APPA YOUTH CHAT
Yohanna got Rediston Park Happy to Gamble (Simon) in May 2014.  We did not go looking for a Palouse as such, Yohanna had bred herself a pinto colt however he had a retained testicle and had complications after surgery and did not make it.   Justin and Troy had bred Simon so we arranged to pick him up and this gave Yohanna a horse to work with to help fill the void of her little pinto.   Yohanna worked very hard with Simon who  for a long time did not have any memory retention, Yohanna patiently worked with Simon and gradually he started to retain for short periods, Yohanna built upon these lessons and slowly Simon has learnt, with Yohanna mainly competing with him in the performance classes. He has been a challenging horse, but together they have learnt from each other, however he is very much a one person horse.   Today Simon excels in the fault and out classes himself measuring only 33 inches and jumping 41inches in competition.   Yohanna is now studying equine courses as part of her Year 12 certificate and

hopes to eventually work within the equine industry.
Simon is semi retired, however when a APPA show comes up locally he often has the cobwebs brushed away, a bath and trim and comes out
